Altcar Training Camp on Merseyside recently hosted a weekend Cadet competition run by local Army Reserve personnel from 156 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps. The prize in sight was the prestigious Kings Cup.
[ngg_images source=”galleries” container_ids=”131″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails” override_thumbnail_settings=”0″ thumbnail_width=”191″ thumbnail_height=”99″ thumbnail_crop=”1″ images_per_page=”4″ number_of_columns=”2″ ajax_pagination=”1″ show_all_in_lightbox=”0″ use_imagebrowser_effect=”0″ show_slideshow_link=”0″ slideshow_link_text=”[Show as slideshow]” order_by=”sortorder” order_direction=”ASC” returns=”included” maximum_entity_count=”500″]Twelve teams from Merseyside Army Cadet Force participated in the competition, which consisted of 12 stands located across Altcar Training Camp to be completed in two days. 156 Regt RLC were supported by other local Army Reserve units including 103 Regiment Royal Artillery, 33 Signals Squadron, 208 (Liverpool) Field Hospital, 75 Engineer Regiment, 4th Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, the Army Training Unit and Liverpool Universities Officer Training Corps.
Despite challenging weather with rain and high winds, the cadets were in great spirits throughout the weekend. Team 12 were declared the winners and presented with the cup by Colonel Tim Gould, Commanding Officer 156 Regt RLC, and Colonel Ray Hughes, Assistant Commander Headquarters North West.
