Huyton Air Cadets raise the standard

30.09.2016

A team of five cadets from 1982 (Huyton) Sqn ATC have recently been crowned champions at the Wales and West Regional Banner Drill Competition at Royal Air Force Cosford near Wolverhampton.

The team from Huyton, led by Cdt FS Aiden Jackson, previously competed against the 29 other Squadrons in Merseyside Wing before taking on five other Wings to win at the Regional Competition.

The cadets were judged on their standard of dress as well as their ability follow a set drill sequence in smart and uniform manner. This included casing and uncasing the Squadron Banner as well as performing a variety of movements and salutes.

Banner Bearer, Cdt FS Aiden Jackson, said: “The team worked exceptionally hard and put in many hours of preparation and practice to achieve this victory. I have no doubt that we will maintain this success at the national competition!”

The team will now go on to represent Wales and West Region at the national competition in November.
