Cadets’ shooting skills put to the test

21.10.2015

48 teams of cadets from SCC, ACF and CCF units across the North West gathered at Altcar Training Camp on Merseyside for the annual Cadet Skill at Arms Meeting (CSAAM). Taking place over a weekend, this favourite of the Cadet calendar pushes the teams’ shooting skills to the limits across a variety of competitions on Altcar’s ranges. Competition is always fierce.PH1_2680

During the Sunday, cadets were joined by special guests who attended a lunchtime briefing hosted by NW RFCA followed by the famous Falling Plate competition which brings the CSAAM to a close. Guests included the Lord-Lieutenants of Merseyside and Greater Manchester, Commanding Officers and personnel of Army Reserve units and Cadet units, Armed Forces Champions from local authorities across the region and representatives of charities, schools and other organisations who have supported the Cadet movement over the years.

The meeting finished with a formal prize-giving ceremony. Prizes were presented by Brig Chris Coles, Comd 42 NW Inf Bde. Special congratulations go to Cheshire ACF’s ‘A’ team, who were awarded Top Team, and Cdt CSM Andrew PH1_2677Johns, Cumbria ACF, who was awarded Champion Cadet.
