General visits Altcar Training Camp

Maj Gen Ronald Munro, Deputy Commander Land Forces, made a special visit to Altcar Training Camp on Merseyside recently, hosted by 156 Regt RLC. After his initial welcome, the general was briefed by Col Mark Underhill, Chief Executive NW RFCA, and Lt Col Gordon Black, Commandant Altcar Training Camp, on the training areas and the support given by the Association.

Col Hilary Williams, Colonel Cadets HQ 42 Inf Bde & HQ NW, together with Col Richard Goodwin, Commandant Merseyside ACF, gave their reports on the cadets’ Annual Inspections supported by local Army Reserve unit 156 Regt RLC, and on the forthcoming King’s Cup challenge, run by 156 Regt RLC and supported by other Army Reservist units.

The general then lunched with Army Training Unit (ATU) personnel. Following lunch he Volunteer Reserve Service Medals (VRSM) to: Col Chris Ledsham, OC ATU North West; WO1 Lee Farrell; WO2 Kevin Hughes; WO2 Stephen Wilson; C/Sgt Barry Briery; and, S/Sgt Andy Chatterton.
