The Engagement team has started 2022 with a bang!

As we emerge from Covid lockdown restrictions and only being able to meet virtually, the team has recently been able to meet face to face with a number of regional businesses in Liverpool and Lancashire.

Regional Employer Engagement Directors; Jan Cox and Vicky Doran, have organised and delivered two very successful business breakfasts and a ships visit on to HMS Queen Elizabeth. These events were attended by 150 local business leaders, their staff and employees and provided an excellent opportunity for the team to re-engage with their regional business accounts.

The aim of the events was not just to say ‘Thank you for supporting the regions Armed Forces and Cadets’ but to shake hands, share a brew and eat food together – something we haven’t been able to do in almost two years.

Since January, Jan, Vicky and Liz have been working almost non-stop to ensure the regions Employer Recognition Scheme Silver and Gold applications were produced, checked and submitted to the Defence Relationship Management team in readiness for their respective awards panels.  In total they have managed 80 submissions, another record year for ERS applications.

Currently the team are working through the Lord – Lieutenants’ Awards arrangements, ERS Silver and Gold Award preparations, arranging the President’s Dinner, a Defence Dinner on the Isle of Man..…..and have been busy recruiting a new Employer Engagement Admin Officer and 2 new REEDs.

We’re looking forward to another busy season of engagement and working with the regions Armed Forces supportive employers.
