Partnering with Defence, Employer Conference 2020 brought together employers and Defence representatives to examine ‘Whole Force by Design’, defined as the delivery of military capability through the combined efforts of Regular and Reserve Armed Forces, the Civil Service and Employers.
As well as hearing from Defence and industry experts, delegates had the opportunity to attend two of the three interactive seminars. There was also plenty of opportunity to network and visit the exhibition stands.
The keynote speaker for this year’s conference was Baroness Karren Brady CBE. Baroness Brady is one of the UK’s most high-profile businesswomen. Her wealth of experience and passion for supporting entrepreneurs and business led to her appointment as the Government’s Small Business Ambassador by the Prime Minister in 2013.
Several North West employers attended the conference; Tameside Council (ERS Gold), Trafford Council (ERS Gold), and BCW Manufacturing of Burnley (ERS Bronze). To thank them, the Regional Employment Engagement Directors hosted our employers the night before at the RAF Club on Piccadilly. The employers enjoyed dinner and a tour of the Club, taking in the many original works of Air Force and aviation art which span the 102 year history of the Royal Air Force.
