North West Reservist gunners on US exchange programme

28.06.2018

During May – June 2018, 103rd (Lancashire Artillery Volunteers) Regiment Royal Artillery exchanged with 1-148th Field Artillery Regiment of the US National Guard as a part of the United States Military Reserves Exchange Programme (USMREP) by sending two personnel on their annual training exercise in Boise, Idaho, USA. The aim of the USMREP is to enhance partnerships and co-operation between the UK and USA reserve military personnel. SSgt Hamlett and Sgt Hussain represented the Regiment in excellent fashion by fully immersing themselves in the annual training being conducted on the US 155mm artillery systems. It is this experience that they can bring back and pass on lessons learned to the wider Regiment. They both look forward to hosting their US counter-parts later in the year during the Regiment’s UK Annual Deployment exercise.
