Engagement team update

Employer Recognition Scheme

The Engagement team have been busy this month working with the regions businesses helping them to prepare their Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award submissions.  When the submissions window closed the REEDs had supported 30 new business submissions and 5 revalidations.  This has been another bumper year for the team and shows the continued growth in support of the Armed Forces Covenant and support to the Defence Community across the North West.

Gold Award Association

On Tuesday 25 May the NW RFCA Employer Engagement team helped facilitate the first post COVID19 Gold Award Association (GAA) event in the North West.

25 representatives from the region’s 18 Gold ERS organisations attended the virtual event via zoom. The event was led by “Daz” Knight, NW GAA Chair & Armed Forces Lead for Pertemps. During the event it was formally announced that a Deputy Chair had been appointed in order to provide support and cover during periods of absence for mobilisation or annual leave.

Kairen Smith from North West Ambulance Service, one of our long -standing Gold organisations has accepted the role and is looking forward to the challenge.

Attendees were briefed by members of the Royal Navy’s presentation team who provided an informative and engaging presentation focused on their global work and the impact of their activities on UK business both at home and abroad.

We look forward to holding the next event face to face at a date and venue to be confirmed.
