Our Regional Employer Engagement Directors have recently held three Employer Recognition Scheme workshops to support business through the DERS submission process.  These workshops have proved to be well received by business and helps to shape their Employer Recognition Scheme applications.  The workshops have taken place in Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside so far to date. Andrew Powell from Healthier Heroes CIC who attended the Lancashire workshop said:

“The day was excellent and we are now armed with all the information we need to achieve the Silver Award”.

NW Gold Award Association (GAA)

The Regional Employer Engagement Directors have recently worked with the North West GAA lead, Mr Darren Knight, to deliver the second GAA meeting/workshop at Haydock Park Racecourse.

The GAA are the regions advocates of the Armed Forces Covenant and provide Defence with a useful forum to hear from business and the issues they are facing with employing Reserves/Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and the wider Defence Community.  We will look to support the GAA again later in the year and further deepen our regional relationship with them.
