Riverside Group in Merseyside reaffirms support to the Armed Forces community

The Riverside Group, a leading national social housing provider with headquarters in Merseyside, has re-pledged its support to the Armed Forces community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve.

The Covenant was signed on behalf of Riverside by Carol Matthews, Chief Executive, and John Glenton, Executive Director of Care and Support, with Warrant Officer Class 2 Amanda Keating 156 Regiment Royal Logistics Corps, on behalf of Defence.

Riverside is one of the leading registered providers of social housing in the UK, comprising a group of complementary businesses with a shared social purpose and a charitable housing association at its core. Established nearly 90 years ago, the organisation provides affordable housing, care and support services in England and Scotland with over 52,000 homes in management.

Carol Matthews, Chief Executive of The Riverside Group, said: “We are proud to support Veterans who have struggled with the transition back to civilian life. We deliver housing services, advice and support across the country to Veterans who would otherwise be homeless.

“We also employ Veterans and Reservists as part of our housing teams, and our Veterans and Armed Forces Strategy highlights our key commitments.”
