Holcombe Moor Training Camp

Holcombe Moor Training Centre is available for use by all Military Organisations; Regular, Reserve Unit or cadet from any Service.  The primary users of the Centre are members of the Cadet Forces, but bids for use will always be accepted from the Regular and Reserve forces.

Holcombe moor is situated near the small town of Ramsbottom and the nearest major town is Bury. The village is located on the slopes of Holcombe Moor. Much of the moorland around the village is in the care of the National Trust and is popular with walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. There are shops and pubs with in a short distance of the camp and bus transport links to Bolton and Bury.

Holcombe Moor over the period FY 2017/18 had 25,806 ‘Heads on beds’ and over 9,700 people using the Camp for training and meetings.  The camp is also available for bookings from non-military personnel via the Alternative Venues programme.
