We believe in developing recruits for both the Reserves and the Cadets – to allow them to be the best that they can be. We train our recruits in all manner of new skills – map reading, weapon handling, first aid and physical fitness to name but a few. Adventurous activities and training are also offered. The skills that we teach can be used in all walks of life – particularly with leadership or officer training.
All promising Reserve recruits who show the requisite aptitude will be offered the opportunity to train as an officer and earn the Queen’s Commission – thereby developing analytical, management and leadership skills. Some units will also be able to offer recruits vocational qualifications that are relevant to both military and civilian walks of life.
